Ritual Travel Guide
How to unlock permanent teleportation on any character by briefly leveling a Druid or Wizard.
🎯 Your Plan
David: Bard (primary) + Paladin + Enchanter → but first, briefly add Wizard as a secondary class to unlock portal Rituals, then swap it out.
Christy: Cleric (primary) + Necromancer + Wizard → but first, briefly add Druid as a secondary class to unlock travel Rituals, then swap it out.
⚠️ Important Correction — Gate + Bind Affinity Already Covered
David: Your Enchanter learns Gate at level 4 and Bind Affinity at level 12. You do NOT need Wizard for these basics.
Christy: Your Cleric learns Gate at level 5 and Bind Affinity at level 14. You do NOT need Druid for these basics.
The Ritual donor classes are only needed for actual teleportation (moving to other zones) and run speed — not for Gate or Bind.
How Rituals Work
From the EQL class combo builder: "Rituals — keep Druid/Wizard ports even when the class isn't slotted."
From the community: "You can level a Druid or Wizard up to unlock the self ports. Then they become ritual spells available to you no matter your class combo."
Key mechanics:
- Ritual spells appear in the Actions window (default keybind: L)
- You must be out of combat and in a resting state to use them
- Once you learn a teleport spell by having that class slotted, it stays available via Rituals forever — even after swapping that class out
- This applies to: Wizard Common Gate + Teleports, Druid Spirit of Wolf + Circles + Succor
- Note: Evacuate is Wizard level 57 (Kunark era) — not available at launch
Strategy — The Ritual Rush
Since Gate and Bind Affinity come from your existing classes, the Ritual donor classes are specifically for inter-zone travel and run speed:
- Create both characters with their intended primary classes (David=Bard, Christy=Cleric).
- Your second class at creation should be your Ritual donor (David=Wizard, Christy=Druid).
- Level to the Ritual target levels below — this takes a few hours of light grinding.
- At level 10, pick your third class as your intended main (David=Paladin or Enchanter, Christy=Necromancer or Wizard).
- Once you have the Ritual spells learned, swap out the Ritual donor for your final class in a major city.
- The travel spells remain available via the Actions window as Rituals.
📋 One-Time Process
This is a one-time setup. Once you unlock Rituals, every character you ever play on that server benefits. Do it early before you get invested in your main combo.
David: Wizard Ritual Levels
Add Wizard as your second class at creation. Level it up through these breakpoints. Note: Gate (L4) and Bind Affinity (L12) are already covered by your Enchanter — you do NOT need Wizard for those. The only reason to add Wizard is for Common Gate (self teleport to West Commonlands at L24).
| Target Level | Spell | Effect | Time Invested |
|---|---|---|---|
| 24 | ◇ Common Gate | Self teleport to West Commonlands (central hub). The main prize. 150 mana, 7s cast. | ~4-5 hours |
| 29 | ◇ Nexus Gate | Self teleport to The Nexus. | ~6-8 hours |
| 34 | ◇ Cazic Portal | Group teleport to Temple of Cazic Thule. 250 mana. | — |
| 34 | ◇ Great Divide Gate | Self teleport to Great Divide. 150 mana. | — |
💡 David's Minimum Target: Level 24 (Common Gate)
Common Gate at L24 is the prize — instant self-port to West Commonlands, the central travel hub. You already get Gate + Bind Affinity from your Enchanter at levels 4 and 12, so Wizard's value is entirely about inter-zone teleportation. If you don't want to invest the time, skip Wizard entirely — you still have Gate + Bind + Bard Selo's run speed.
Christy: Druid Ritual Levels
Add Druid as Christy's second class at creation. Note: Gate (L5) and Bind Affinity (L14) are already covered by your Cleric. Druid's value is Spirit of Wolf (run speed) and Circle ports (group teleportation).
| Target Level | Spell | Effect | Time Invested |
|---|---|---|---|
| 14 | ✓ Spirit of Wolf | Runspeed 34-55% scaling to L50. 40 mana, 4.5s cast. Essential travel buff for the whole duo. | ~2-3 hours |
| 24 | Spirit of Eagle | Improved run speed (self only). | — |
| 29 | ◇ Circle: Commons | Group teleport to West Commonlands (hub). Major QoL. 300 mana. | ~6-8 hours |
| 29 | ◇ Circle: Surefall Glade | Group teleport to Surefall Glade (Qeynos area). | — |
| 29 | ◇ Circle: North Karana | Group teleport to North Karana. | — |
| 29 | ◇ Circle: Greater Faydark | Group teleport to Greater Faydark (Kelethin). | — |
| 34 | ◇ Succor: Butcher | Group teleport to Butcherblock Mountains. | — |
| 34 | ◇ Circle: Toxxulia | Group teleport to Toxxulia Forest (Erudin). | — |
💡 Christy's Minimum Target: Level 14 (Spirit of Wolf)
Spirit of Wolf at L14 gives the whole duo permanent run speed — this is massive for leveling speed. Bard Selo's Accelerando (L1) serves the same purpose, but they stack differently — Selo's is song-based, SoW is a buff. Having both means one of you can buff the other if your classes change. If you push to 29 for Circle ports, Christy becomes your group's dedicated transporter.
