Core Description
Paladins are holy warriors who call upon the gods to channel divine spells and strength of arms in the fight against evil and the undead. They are a primarily defensive melee class, able to wear plate armor, wield many kinds of weapons, and access divine magic.
Paladins supplement their melee combat fortitude with the ability to stun and smite foes as well as increase the health and armor of allies. Each day, paladins can Lay Hands on one person — a powerful heal prized for its potential to recover a seemingly doomed battle.
EQL-Specific Paladin Changes
🆕 EQL Paladin Buffs
Paladins received significant buffs in EQL, including Cleric offensive spells — the Strike direct damage line. They also get Instrument of Knives (undead DD proc) earlier than classic, plus two proc choices. This is the "Paladin DPS surprise" the devs teased. Paladins now have actual DPS options beyond just tanking and healing.

Stat Priorities
- Wisdom (WIS): Mana pool for spells and heals. Paladin's #1 stat.
- Stamina (STA): HP for tanking. You're the front line.
- Strength (STR): Melee damage + carry plate armor.
- Charisma (CHA): Situational. Helps if doing paladin-specific faction quests.
Stance Synergies
Paladin gets Defensive Stance (50% damage reduction). This is your primary tanking stance. When you're not actively tanking (e.g., charmed pet is holding aggro), switch to Offensive for +100% melee damage.
