💡 Recommended Starting Race
Cleric primary → Dwarf. 83 WIS gives you plenty of mana. High STR/STA for survivability (you'll wear plate). Necromancer secondary (Dark Elf bonuses for INT). Wizard third for ports. The plate armor from Cleric protects your otherwise-squishy caster body.

🆕 Cleric Changes in EQL
Cleric received the most new spells of any class. Complete Heal is replaced by Promise Renewal (0.25 sec cast). New heal lines added including a fast cast heal. Promised heal line with HOT component. Clerics remain the unquestioned best healers in the game.

Playstyle Rotation
- Pre-fight: Cast Cleric buffs (Valor, Symbol). Necro Lich for mana. Wizard memorize ports.
- Pet management: Necro pet tanks secondary mob or adds DPS. In duo with David's Paladin, pet can just DPS while Paladin tanks.
- DoT rotation: Necro applies Dots (Disease Cloud → highest DoT → tap). Stacks perfectly with Wizard nukes since damage types differ.
- Nuke burn: Wizard unloads full nuke rotation after Paladin establishes aggro. Let David's Enchanter cast Tashan first (lowers resists).
- Healing: Cleric keeps Promise Renewal HOT on Paladin. Use fast heals for spike damage. Superior Healing for emergencies.
- Mana management: Necro Lich + Bard's Clarity song + Enchanter's Clarity spell = massive regen. Cleric sits and meditates always.
- Emergency: Evacuate (Wiz) = zone-wide escape. Feign Death (Necro) for pulling safety. 96% Rez (Cleric) for post-wipe recovery.
- Travel: Wizard ports = fast travel anywhere. Combined with Bard Selo's run speed + Necro Feign Death scouting = fastest duo in Norrath.

Gearing Philosophy
Since Cleric provides plate armor, prioritize:
- Wisdom gear for Cleric mana pool (healing throughput).
- Intelligence gear for Necro/Wizard mana pools.
- HP/AC — you'll survive better in plate.
- Mana regeneration items dropped by mobs or found as quest rewards.
- Focus effect items that boost healing or damage spell lines.
- Two "any" slots for extra stat sticks or shields (full AC value from shield).
Synergies with David's Combo
- David's Bard provides run speed (Selo's) — your Wizard doesn't need to port for short distances
- David's Enchanter provides Clarity + Tashan (lowers resist) — your nukes/DoTs land harder
