Core Description
Wizards are the masters of raw magical damage. They wield the most powerful nukes in the game, capable of obliterating enemies in seconds. They also provide invaluable transportation via teleportation spells and life-saving group evacuations. Wizards are a tightly focused class — the greatest ability to deal magical damage in exchange for limited variety in their spell selection.
EQL-Specific Wizard Status
Core Mechanics Unchanged
Wizard remains largely unchanged from classic EQ — still the king of burst DPS, still the only class with group teleports and evacuation. Their nuke rotation remains central to their gameplay. Some spell timing and mana costs may be adjusted for EQL's multiclass environment.

Stat Priorities
- Intelligence (INT): Mana pool. Wizard's entire game is mana → nuke → more mana.
- Stamina (STA): HP. Wizards are cloth — every HP matters.
- Dexterity (DEX): Reduces spell fizzle. Important for chain nuking.
- Wisdom (WIS): More relevant if Cleric is primary (plate + WIS).
Key Role in the Caster Trio
Wizard provides the burst damage that the Necromancer's DoTs lack. While Necro DoTs do sustained damage over time, the Wizard can delete a single target in seconds. The pairing of DoT + nuke means: Necro DoTs tick while Wizard nukes — the target takes both sustained AND burst damage simultaneously. Plus, Wizard teleports + Bard Selo's = the fastest travel duo in Norrath.
Critical Spell: Evacuate
Evacuate teleports your entire group to the zone line. In emergencies — add train, overpull, boss enrage — this spell saves lives. Bind it to a dedicated macro key. Your wife Christy should practice hitting this instantly when things go wrong.
